Announcing MuseumNext Australia 2018
MuseumNext is a global conference series on the future of museums. Since 2009, it has brought together museum leaders from around the world to ask ‘what’s next for museums?’
In February MuseumNext held it’s first event in Australia, with a three day conference produced in partnership with ACMI in Melbourne. The conference proved to be a huge success with 360 museum professionals from more than 20 countries enjoying three days of discussion around the theme ‘risk’.
Following positive feedback from delegates and an invitation from the city of Brisbane, we are pleased to announce that the conference will return to Australia in 2018 with a three day event in the city between 19 – 21 March 2018.
‘After a very successful conference in Melbourne this year, we are delighted to be invited to return to Australia in 2018’.
— Jim Richardson, Founder, MuseumNext
MuseumNext Australia will take place in Brisbane’s culture precinct. This is a world-class cultural destination which brings together Queensland Museum, Queensland Art Gallery, Gallery of Modern Art, Queensland Performing Arts Centre, Queensland Conservatorium and the State Library of Queensland.
Brisbane is also the home to World Science Festival Brisbane and MuseumNext will coincide with this impressive event, offering delegates even more reason to travel to the city.
