Applications open for fifth annual Remarkable Venue Awards

Peggy Guggenheim Collection

Tiqets’ annual Remarkable Venue Awards celebrates the best museums and attractions worldwide and will be hosted at a free awards ceremony in Seville on 10 November.

This year Tiqets has partnered with the Tourism Innovation Summit to bring the Remarkable Venue Awards ceremony to life as a hybrid in-person and online event.

One of the major winners last year for Best Museum Italy was the Peggy Guggenheim Collection (pictured).

This year’s categories

The two award categories for 2021, open until 30 September, are:

  • Most Innovative Venue recognises the museums and attractions that are pushing the industry forward through creative marketing strategies, new technology, sustainability initiatives, or other means.
  • Best Hidden Gem recognises the unique or niche attractions that may be off the beaten path but always stun their visitors. Any venue that provides an exceptional, one-of-a-kind experience to its audience is encouraged to apply.

There will be a winner for each award in each of Tiqets’ six markets of France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, the UK and Ireland, and the US.

“2021 has been a year of rebirth for the tourism industry,” Luuc Elzinga, Tiqets President & Co-founder, said. “In the wake of the pandemic, museums and attractions have come up with new, exciting and – most importantly – safe ways to engage with visitors.

Year of recovery

“We’re hosting our annual event to celebrate the end of a year of recovery and welcome the shift to a year of breaking records.”

The winners will be chosen by a panel of expert judges in each participating region, including Jim Richardson, founder of MuseumNext, and representatives from organisations such as National Geographic, Condé Nast and our global judge Douglas Quinby from Arival.

Submit an application

Registration for the award ceremony is free both in-person and online. To be in with a chance of an award, submit a short application form on the Remarkable Venue Awards website.
