Digital Museum Workshop

The MuseumNext Digital Museum Workshop is an intensive dive into how your institution should be using digital to engage new and existing audiences.

Held at your museum over the course of a day, we bring together people from across the organisation to identify what you should be sharing, learn about new tools and rapid prototyping new ideas.

At the end of this fast paced session your team will have a better understanding of digital tools and how to use them to get brilliant results.

Here’s what to expect:

  • Get your team on the same page with a joint digital ambition

  • Determine your museums key assets

  • Decide which audiences you want to reach

  • Identify the right platforms for engagement

Workshop Leader

Jim Richardson

Jim Richardson is the founder of MuseumNext, the international conference series on the future of museums.

As a speaker and author, Jim has shared his vision of evolving arts audiences; people who want to step beyond being treated as spectators and wish to actively engage with cultural organisations through their venue, website and brand.

Jim has worked with museums for more than twenty years, helping them to develop a wide range of digital initiatives, from marketing campaigns to websites, apps to digital exhibitions.

His clients have included museums across the UK and further afield, including the National Gallery, Natural History Museum, V&A, National Trust, National Museums Scotland, National Museum Wales, Hepworth Wakefield, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Brighton & Hove Museum, Tyne and Wear Museums, Qatar Museums and many more.

In 2011 Jim developed a tool for developing an effective digital strategy with Jasper Visser, a Dutch digital media consultant. The Digital Engagement Framework is now employed by hundreds cultural organisations around the world, and is the subject of two books.
