Marge Ainsley

Marge is a well-respected cultural consultant based in the UK, specialising in marketing, audience development and evaluation. She was previously voted one of the 50 best freelancers in the UK by national marketing magazine, The Drum.

Since launching her own consultancy in 2008, she’s worked with a variety of museums, libraries, archives, galleries and heritage sites. These have included Manchester Art Gallery, Manchester International Festival, National Museums Liverpool, London Transport Museum, Manchester Museum, Get it Loud in Libraries, Cheshire Archives, The Whitworth, BALTIC, Scottish Book Trust, Macclesfield Museums, Dales Countryside Museum and the National Trust.

She is a member of the Visitor Studies Group, Market Research Society and Association of Independent Museums. A guest lecturer at Newcastle University and Manchester University, Marge regularly speaks about her work across the cultural sector at a range of lectures, seminars and conferences.

Marge co-runs the volunteer-led Museum Freelance Network, which supports and champions freelancers and consultants working with museums, galleries, archives, libraries and heritage sites across the UK.
