Our 2020 conference in Edinburgh will focus on the transformation of Museum Practice, Leadership, Careers and Audiences.

This is an opportunity for museum professionals from around the world to seek out answers to the problems that they’re facing at work in a supportive environment with like minded colleagues.

You’ll have the chance to deep dive into the subjects that matter to you in workshops, be inspired by keynote presentations and explore cultural Edinburgh.

Conference Fringe

The first day of MuseumNext is our conference fringe. This gives delegates the opportunity to explore the city, participate in workshops and listen to talks organised by our community.

Every delegate will be given a special National Art Pass which give free access to a number of museums and exhibitions that you’d usually need to pay for. And Edinburgh is home to some fantastic cultural institutions!

The conference fringe will end with a fabulous conference opening reception in the National Museum of Scotland.

Unmissable Presentations

Days two and three of the conference are our plenary sessions. With our one stage, keynote only programme, our delegates can sit back and relax without having to worry about running between sessions.

Our programme is highly curated with presentations that inspire and deliver actionable ideas. This year the theme is transformation and we’ll be focusing on the transformation of Museum Practice, Leadership, Careers and Audiences.
