Eve-Lyne Cayouette Ashby

Eve-Lyne Cayouette Ashby has recently been appointed as Head of Public Programs and Education at the Biosphere. With extensive experience in museology, exhibition design, oral history, and collaborative processes, she thrives on leading meaningful projects that have positive impacts on communities.

Eve-Lyne holds a master’s degree in Museology and a bachelor’s degree in Anthropology from the University of Montreal (Canada) with a training in Heritage Studies from Lille 1 University (France). She has also developed an extensive professional expertise in oral history.

From 2009 to 2014, she has played an important role at Concordia University’s Centre for Oral History and Digital Storytelling (Montreal, Canada) as both Associate Director and Director of Research and Curation. In 2015, she joined GSM Project, an international visitor experience design firm. As Content Director and Creative Director, she contributed to the creation and renewal of multiple science, history, and heritage museums in Canada, Europe, and the Middle-East.

Reinventing the Biosphere
The Biosphère, the newest museum to join the Space for Life complex in Montreal, is currently working on reinventing its mandate, which is at the crossroads of environment, science, art and citizen museology. Aiming to raise public awareness and encourage action, the museum wishes to become a positive and inspiring space for thinking about the socio-ecological transition. How can we think of an inclusive environmental museum that is part of the public debate? Why build a place for dialogue based on exchanges between scientists, artists and the public?
