MuseumNext, a global conference series on the future of museums highlights best practices and envisions the museums of tomorrow.
In September, we’re hosting the third annual Museum Games & Play Summit which looks at the role of games and play in museums.
Museums are typically thought of as destinations to house and display art, artefacts and collections of cultural interest. But in an age of shortened attention spans, it’s becoming more obvious that museums can’t simply be something nice to look at — they must actively engage their visitors. To do this, many institutions are turning to play, in its various forms, to both engage and educate those who walk through their doors.
The Museum Games & Play Summit will bring together museum professionals from around the globe to share best practice in creating engaging playful experiences both in the museum and online. We’re now looking for speakers to make twenty minute presentations for this event.

We welcome presentations on games and play from across the sector, but we’d encourage businesses looking to speak at the event to partner with a museum on a proposal.
MuseumNext follows a fast-paced, twenty-minute presentation format, emphasising practice over theory.
All talks must be pre-recorded to ensure high-quality presentations and minimise technical difficulties. Speakers should be available for live Q&As if time zones permit (event runs 2pm – 7pm London time zone).
All presentations must be in English.

Deadline: July 19th 2024 (NOW CLOSED).
Our conference peer panel will review all proposals and curate the event program.
We will respond to all applicants by July 31st 2024.
Pre-recorded talks will be required by 6th September to allow for captioning, use in marketing and tech checks.
