Can you imagine a museum that was originally designed to be floating on the top of a hill so that the view of the city would be preserved from up there?
That was the idea behind the creation of MASP, the Art Museum of São Paulo, in Brazil, built in 1968 by Lina Bo Bardi (1914-1992) and considered an icon of modern architecture. The area left empty under the floating museum is called the free span, has 74 meters and was conceived by Lina as a public square to connect people, art, culture.
