Call for Speakers

MuseumNext : Museum XR Summit – Virtual Conference
26 – 27 June 2024

MuseumNext is a global conference series on the future of museums. Over the past 12 months our events have brought together more than 20,000 museum professionals for our virtual conference series, which has offered insight, inspiration and actionable advice.

Each MuseumNext conference has a theme, around which our community comes together to discuss the future of museums. In June 2024 we’ll be holding a virtual conference looking at virtual reality, augmented reality, mixed reality and immersive experiences.

In today’s digital age, museums are no longer confined to physical walls; they are embracing the latest technology to offer immersive experiences that transport visitors to new dimensions of engagement.

At the Museum XR Summit we want to showcase transformative potential of these immersive technologies, showing how virtual and augmented reality are redefining how we engage with art, history, culture, and science.

We’re now looking for speakers to make 20-minute (pre-recorded) presentations for this event.

Some subjects which you may choose to address:

Some themes which you might want to consider:

Getting started with XR?
How can a museum get started with Augmented, Virtual, Mixed Reality and Immersive Experiences? And what are the important considerations?

Inside Out
How are museums taking their digital experiences beyond their walls? Case studies of successful projects.

XR on a budget
Augmented, Virtual, Mixed Reality and Immersive Experiences have a reputation for being expensive technologies. How can museums use existing platforms to try these technologies without breaking the bank?

Rules of XR storytelling
Is storytelling through XR technologies different? What are the techniques for telling effective stories through these tools.

Please feel free to put forward any proposal that you feel fits with the theme of this event.

The Museum XR Summit will take place online 26 – 27 June 2024.
