Volunteering & Scholarships
As a small organization we need a helping hand from volunteers to make MuseumNext happen. We publicise opportunities on this page, in our e-newsletter and on the MuseumNext Twitter and Facebook pages.
Volunteering opportunities are limited to full time students based in the city that the conference is taking place. This allows us to give something back to our host city and ensures that all our volunteers can help out at the event at minimal expense to themselves.
We normally ask that a volunteer helps out for two or three sessions in return for a full conference pass (worth £450). The work is limited to helping set up, assisting on the registration desk, handing out microphones for Q&A’s and being a spare pair of hands in workshops.
If you are a student or museum professional from outside our host city and would like to enjoy the presentations free of charge, most sessions are filmed and shared free of charge on this website.
As a small organisation we have limited resources to give scholarships, however we enabled more than 200 young museum professionals to attend the event through scholarships over the past decade.
In both the United States and Europe we have worked with groups representing Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic museum professionals to help make the conference more representative of the diversity of wider society.
We also work in partnership with local organisations who distributing the tickets or ask people to register their interest.
