This is an exciting opportunity to join a successful fundraising team at the National Gallery. Its Trusts and Individual Giving Team plays a vital role raising support for the Gallery, which in turn helps to maintain and enhance the Gallery’s world-class collection for the benefit of visitors from the UK and overseas.
As the Development Officer – Major Gifts, you will be providing support to the Head of Trusts and Individual Giving and the Development Managers – Major Gifts, across their whole portfolio of tasks and activities relating to fundraising from individual philanthropists, trusts and foundations.
The role will coordinate stewardship and cultivation programmes for our major donors, organise bespoke events with our events team, and provide other support required. In addition this key role within the Trusts and Individual Giving team will have a focused portfolio of individual prospects and donors from which to secure philanthropic support for the National Gallery.
You will need experience of fundraising from individuals and/or trusts or experience of significant relationship management, and will have strong communication skills both verbal and written. Experience of event organisation and managing multiple projects will be essential together with a high level of computer literacy and knowledge of a CRM database system.
