Your new organisation

York Museums Trust is an independent charitable organisation created to manage York Art Gallery, York Castle Museum, Yorkshire Museum & Gardens, and York St Mary’s.  Our vision is to work together with audiences and communities to inspire, to share and to care for cultural heritage.

Your new role

We are seeking a HR Assistant to support the HR team with general administrative support. You’ll be involved in assisting the HR Advisor by preparing and collating information for payroll, drafting adverts and logging applications for recruitment, as well as drafting letters. You will also be responsible for stationery ordering, filing, dealing with correspondence, raising purchase orders and processing invoices.

What you’ll need to succeed

You will need a CIPD Level 3 qualification (or equivalent knowledge), together with previous experience within a HR environment.  A good working knowledge of Microsoft office, in particular Excel is essential, as well as experience of updating database systems accurately and advising staff on HR processes and procedures. Experience of coordinating entry level recruitment and payroll administration would be an advantage. You will also need flexibility to embrace and support change in line with the organisational needs and requirements.

We offer a competitive salary, a defined benefit pension scheme, generous leave allowance and fully flexible working hours with the bandwidth between 7 am and 7 pm. The role will be based in our York city centre office 1-2 days per week with flexibility to balance time in the office with working from home.

As an organisation York Museums Trust is committed to encouraging and increasing diversity amongst our w orkforce.
