The IT & Business Systems Officer is responsible for leading effective operation and development of key IT infrastructure, systems and digital projects to support the operation of Design Dundee Limited and of V&A Dundee as a world class visitor attraction.
The role oversees the operation and development of these systems. The role works across departments to identify and deliver technical IT solutions to support Business Plan objectives.
A degree of flexibility will be key to this exciting role. We seek an organised and enthusiastic individual who must enjoy working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
Working hours will be 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, including occasional evening or weekend working.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support the Head of Digital & IT to deliver an integrated and responsive IT service and a range of IT and digital projects which will support the operation of the museum, its public and business objectives.
Oversee an effective integrated IT infrastructure for Design Dundee Limited and V&A Dundee ensuring systems are designed, available and supported to meet the requirements of the business.
Lead or support on the day to day management of IT systems such as necessary upgrades, troubleshooting and first line support across the organisation’s IT systems and infrastructure.
Lead or support on the creation and management of IT users accounts including managing access rights, onboarding and essential IT training of all staff recruited.
Manage the day to day relationship with external providers for IT systems, ensuring effective service delivery for V&A Dundee’s IT systems and infrastructure and overseeing the support requests.
Provide advice to all departments and support them to use digital solutions to solve every day problems to increase efficiency.
Lead on requirements gathering, researching and recommending potential solutions and implementation of IT projects.
Project manage upgrades to existing IT systems, troubleshooting on issues and any changes, migrations which may take place.
Design, build and generate reports and dashboards to display KPIs and key business and financial information to support the organisation as well as key external partners.
Support the Head of Digital & IT to implement and maintain legal compliance and full business continuity protocols across all IT systems, infrastructure and related areas.
Be proactive in remaining abreast of new developments within the industry and acting as an internal champion to ensure V&A Dundee offers a sustainable and effective IT service.
Provide cover for the CRM and Ticketing Systems Manager during periods of annual leave.
Be available out-of-hours in emergencies or to respond to urgent network or infrastructure issues on an occasional basis.
Any other duties determined to be reasonable for this position.
