Long Lines to Online

The Scottish Fisheries Museum holds a collection of 13,000 images relating to the fishing heritage of Britain, spanning over a century. It is recognised as a resource of national significance. However, until recently, it was held on-site at the museum without easy access. A grant from the Digital Innovation and Engagement Fund was given to the museum in 2021 to bring it online and facilitate remote volunteers to help catalogue it. In this presentation, Anna, the digitisation project officer in charge, will discuss the challenges of this project and digitising in a smaller museum with fewer resources.
