Beyond the walls: a living digital platform for language heritage

The Museu da Língua Portuguesa in São Paulo has just launched a digital platform that goes beyond simply putting collections online. Designed as a living, evolving environment, it reimagines how language heritage can be experienced beyond the museum’s physical space.

This talk explores how the platform transforms exhibitions into narrative, multilayered digital journeys — combining historical timelines, audiovisual content and diverse voices. Through the case of Português do Brasil, we show how intangible heritage can be translated into engaging digital experiences, while also sharing lessons learned in developing open, scalable tools that connect with audiences worldwide.
