Charlotte Clergeau

As Digital Project Manager at France Muséums, Charlotte Clergeau supervises and supports the creation of digital and audiovisual tools for the temporary exhibitions at the Louvre Abu Dhabi.

Specialising in digital tools and practices in the heritage field, she has also worked on the use of AI in the human sciences and at the Bibliothèque nationale de France.

After a preparatory course in literature and cinema, Charlotte studied history and obtained a diploma in the promotion of cultural, industrial, intangible and natural heritage.

She then went on to complete a master’s degree in art history, studying the use of new technologies and heritage data in historical research, enabling 3D reconstructions of cities from the past.

In the exhibition From Kalila wa Dimna to Jean de La Fontaine: Travelling Through Fables at Louvre Abu Dhabi (From 26 March to 21 July 2024) we introduced an AI-powered Fables Generator, exploring how technology can reimagine fables.

The results? Fascinating, but we quickly realised that AI struggles to fully grasp the nuances of classic literature, especially when navigating the complexities of multiple languages and cultural contexts. Can a machine truly match the talent of a master storyteller?
