Danielle Olsen is the Director of Programming at the Peabody Essex Museum, in Salem, Mass.

With a decade of experience, Danielle is a seasoned arts professional recognized for visionary leadership and an unwavering commitment to lifelong learning, community engagement, and fostering access to the arts. Her expertise is evident in developing innovative partnerships, crafting intergenerational experiences, and nurturing emerging arts leaders in diverse educational settings. Proficient in operational and strategic planning, financial management, and evaluation, Danielle’s skills span the spectrum of arts management.

As a fervent advocate for diversity, equity, and inclusion, Danielle dedicates herself to creating human-centered experiences that inspire a wide-ranging appreciation for creativity. She actively spearheads innovative internship opportunities and leads efforts to make museums more inclusive – ensuring accessibility for visitors of all abilities and needs.

Striving for alignment between learning and curatorial practice, Danielle has made significant contributions to the conceptualization, design, and execution of interactive, interdisciplinary exhibitions. Notable projects/exhibitions include Wild Designs (2018), PEM’s redesigned Art & Nature Center: the Pod (2019), Where the Questions Live: An Exploration of Humans in Nature (2019), and the impactful Climate Action: Inspiring Change (2022), for which she served as Assistant Curator.

With a Master of Arts in Arts Administration from Boston University and a Bachelor of Arts in Arts History and English Communications from Emmanuel College, Boston, Danielle’s academic achievements underscore her practical expertise. Her ongoing journey continues to shape the arts landscape, driving innovation, and fostering a deeper connection to artistic expression.
