Debóra Rónaszéki

Debóra Rónaszéki is a cultural anthropologist with a background in international relations and cultural diplomacy. Her work focuses on contemporary challenges in cultural heritage, particularly the relationship between technology, participation, and museum practice. She currently manages international cooperation projects at the Hungarian National Museum Public Collection Centre, where she works on initiatives related to accessibility, inclusion, and innovative educational approaches in museum environments.

AI-driven participatory design for accessibility

Artificial intelligence is everywhere in museum discourse — but how can it become a meaningful tool rather than a technological buzzword? This presentation shares insights from the SHIFT project, in which AI-driven exhibition tools were developed through participatory design in collaboration with people living with disabilities. By placing visitors at the centre as co-creators, focus groups directly challenged and reshaped the project’s technological assumptions. The result was not simply more “accessible” content, but a shift in institutional practice.
