Dhani Adomaitis

Dhani Adomaitis (she/her) is a programming coordinator in the division of audience engagement at the Historic New Orleans Collection.

With a background in ethnomusicology (M.M., Florida State University), she works on a team that produces 40+ programs annually, including conferences/forums, exhibition programming, lectures, and concerts. Dhani intentionally blurs the line between work and play.

She loves to build programs that complement HNOC’s exhibitions and archives, and to connect historical dots & develop relationships alongside diverse communities.

Outside of HNOC, she plays drums, stays involved in local Carnival culture, and explores the incredible landscapes of southeast Louisiana.

Adults Only: An (a)Mason Race

Inspired by exhibitions on Masonic history, the Amazing Race, and the 2004 film National Treasure, “Mystery, Masons, and Mayhem: A French Quarter Adventure” featured 20 teams of racers navigating the French Quarter. Participants completed challenges, deciphered codes, interacted with historic figures, and explored historic buildings in a quest to “steal” the Louisiana Purchase. The program aimed to collaborate with several museums in the French Quarter to create an event that was unconventional yet historically grounded. The event engaged 100 local adults across five museums, two art galleries, and one Masonic venue.
