Dr Kristin Alford


Dr Kristin Alford is a globally-recognised futurist and the inaugural Director of MOD. – an award-winning museum of discovery at the University of South Australia.

She is lead author and editor of Cultivating Futures Thinking in Museums, (Routledge, late 2024) which draws on case studies from museums in the Future-Oriented Museums Synergies network (FORMS) where she is an active participant.

She is also an advisor on digital health futures for the World Health Organisation (Western Pacific Regional Office) and was a keynote speaker at the 2023 World Government Summit in Dubai. Previously she founded foresight agency Bridge8 building futures capability in sustainability, emerging technologies, education and health.

She was the inaugural licensee and host of TEDxAdelaide, speaking also at TEDxCanberra and TEDxYork. Kristin holds a PhD in process engineering (University of Queensland) and a Masters of Management in Strategic Foresight (Swinburne University) and lectured foresight and social change at the University of Adelaide.
