Eric Espig

With over 18 years working with museums and the past four years of experience as Experience & Engagement then Digital & AI Development Manager at the International Olympic Committee (IOC), I have focused on designing and integrating global interactive and immersive media exhibition platforms and developing innovative AI applications. My work has involved the redesign and integration of over 100 experiences for Olympic Museum exhibitions, Olympic Games venues, and the Olympic Museum Network. I lead strategic planning efforts to incorporate AI into IOC products and museum experiences, ensuring cutting-edge technological applications in the field.

Throughout my career, I have demonstrated expertise in educational technology, museum exhibitions, and higher education. My mission centers on transforming complex ideas into accessible, interactive, and impactful experiences. I am motivated by delivering meaningful designs that foster engagement and innovation. My contributions are always rooted in collaboration and a commitment to advancing the intersection of technology, storytelling, and education.

The Living Visit – A New Way Into Culture

Museums can now reshape themselves around every visitor who walks through the door. This new platform, built by a museum, for any museum, uses responds to visitors and uses AI to craft personalized visits in real time. Visitors share their preferences, and using up to hundreds of points throughout the galleries, the AI does the rest: selecting content, museum text, images and sequences stops, and delivering experiences as audio, quizzes, or activities. They can even talk back by asking questions and going deeper in conversation with the museum itself. All very safely and securtely as much or as little as they like. Accessibility isn’t an afterthought; it’s the foundation, with content that adapts to ability, language, and age as naturally as it adapts to interest. One platform. Every visitor. No two tours alike.
