Erin Dougherty

Director, Public Engagement
High Museum of Art

Erin Dougherty is the Director, Public Engagement at the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. She’s a creative and dynamic leader with over 15 years of museum experience.

While she has developed and implemented programs for a variety of audiences, she also understands how to engage with stakeholders, community leaders, artists, donors, and board members. Erin believes that all community members should have access to museums.

It’s an institution’s job to engage with a community in new and unexpected ways, and to pique their curiosity. Her programming has reflected these ideas by presenting artist conversations, performances, and demonstrations from all over world.

Dougherty holds an MA in Art Education and a BA in Art History. She served on the boards of T. Lang Dance and AIR Serenbe and was a member of the 2017 Getty Leadership institute NextGen class.
