François Roirand is an accomplished professional with a strong background in digital technologies and embedded systems. He completed his engineering degree in Digital Technologies and Embedded Systems from ESEO in 2013, following a foundation in electrical engineering, electronics, and communications technology with a DUT from IUT de Nantes in 2010.

Currently serving as the Technical Director and Solution Architect at Mazedia, a leading digital agency specializing in developing digital tools for the cultural sector, François plays a pivotal role in the development of Wezit, a comprehensive software platform designed to administer content for various types of exhibition mediation programs.

Throughout his tenure at Mazedia, François has been instrumental in various high-profile projects, including the mobile application for the Nasjonalmuseet in Oslo, transmedia mediation devices for the Museon Arlaten, a mobile application with simultaneous live translation for Puy du Fou, immersive experiences for the Mémorial d’Alsace Moselle, and on-site and online mediation tools for the Belgian Beer World in Brussels.

In addition to his professional contributions, François has actively participated in numerous French and European research and development projects since 2010, further solidifying his expertise in the field. Since 2021, he has also been a part of the Selection and Validation Committee for research projects at Pole Images et Réseaux, a cluster bringing together industry expertise and research in the fields of telecommunications, internet, television, and imaging from Brittany and Pays de la Loire regions.

François Roirand spearheaded all technical aspects of the augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) project for the Citadelle de Verdun. Tackling a range of technical challenges, he focused on issues like synchronizing mobile AR, developing VR experiences, managing the world’s largest fleet of AR glasses, and addressing the unique operational demands of underground environments.

His direct involvement ensured the project’s success, navigating complexities in AR/VR integration and logistical hurdles inherent in subterranean settings. François’s leadership underscores his adeptness in applying technology to create immersive cultural experiences, solidifying his standing as an industry leader in digital innovation.
