Gill Raymond is the Digital Manager for the National Portrait Gallery in Canberra.
In a vain attempt to avoid following in her computer-programming parents’ footsteps, Gill stubbornly chose to pursue Art History and Curatorship.
Eventually giving in to the dark (digital) side of the arts world, she has spent the past 13 years at the NPG producing, curating and driving an innovative digital program focused on design, interpretation and access.
She developed and produced the Portrait Stories digital films project and instigated the Gallery’s online exhibition program, for which she has curated a series of exhibitions.
Gill Raymond will be speaking at the Museums, Health & Wellbeing Summit 2024:
Posts, Panic and Portraits: #BTS at #PortraitAU
With a humourous and pragmatic approach, this presentation aims to answer some industry-standard “but what if…”s that continue to get in the way of institutions increasing and maintaining their digital capability, especially in social media.
It will pull dilemmas from the Too-Hard-Basket and suggest practical, tried and tested solutions while actively considering the continued uncertainty plaguing our sector.
