Helen Burbage is Digital Media Officer at the Royal Albert Memorial Museum & Art Gallery, Exeter. She is the lead for all of the museum’s digital activity, from websites and collections data, exhibition content and interactives, and everything in between.

How we brought together 14 (and counting!) museum collections into a coherent whole

The SWCE project is the first outing from The Museum Platform (and to the best of our knowledge, the first outing anywhere!?) which uses collections data from the Museum Data Service. This NHLF funded project aims to provide an entry point to museums in the South West, allowing them to showcase their collections within a coherent, beautifully designed whole. As well as the collections data, we’ve built in a user generated content modules which allows visitors to save their own lists, a simple mobile tour builder and more.
