The Living Museum is an experimental interface utilising content licensed from the British Museum’s digital collection. The website allows visitors to search using natural language and converse with individual artifacts, powered by large language models.

This talk will discuss the architecture, design, and lessons from launching the project, including the ethical questions which came up after the project’s release.
