Kajsa Hartig is Head of Collections and Cultural Environments at Västernorrlands museum, and Project Manager at Collecting Social Photo, Nordiska museet, Stockholm, Sweden.
She has a background in digital development and museums, and is a strong advocate of human and design centered work methods, in the intersection of collections, public museum experiences and online audience engagement, In the past three years she has been managing the international research project Collecting Social Photo, developing recommendations for collecting social digital photography. The recommendations build on 11 different case studies ranging from rural archives documenting a place to viral events like #metoo and the Stockholm Terrorist Attack in 2017. This collaboration between museums. archives and academia in Sweden Denmark and Finland, has also brought great insight into how development of photography collections can support heritage organisations in their bigger quest of becoming relevant in a digital society.
