Konrad Ng is troubleshooter, curator and scholar who believes in kindness and good trouble/necessary trouble. He is the executive director of the award-winning Shangri La Museum of Islamic Art, Culture & Design – the only museum dedicated exclusively to Islamic art in the United States.
Before joining Shangri La, Konrad was the director of the Smithsonian Institution’s Asian Pacific American Center (Washington, DC), a professor of critical studies in the University of Hawaii’s Academy for Creative Media and the first curator of film and video at the Honolulu Museum of Art. He harbors doubts, worries, and an appetite for food and empowering people to change the world.
