Laycca Umer is Manager of the Research, Exhibits, and Programs division at the New York Hall of Science.

In this role, she is a researcher and project manager of a diverse portfolio of federally funded research projects. Her work focuses on developing inclusive and equitable learning opportunities, leading research to inform the development of innovative learning tools, and internal and external institutional capacity building.

Her areas of interest include the intersection of technology and equity in STEM learning, and the changing perception of the role and utility of cultural institutions in broader society.

She has a B.S. in Childhood Education and Psychology and a M.S. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages from CUNY City College.
