Leigh Tanner

Leigh Tanner is Head of Global Partnerships at VIVE Arts, an arts initiative that supports artists and cultural institutions’ experimentation with new technologies.

She previously served as the Deputy Director of Yuz Foundation, Shanghai as well as in the Research and Exhibitions Departments of the Shanghai Project, an interdisciplinary ideas platform launched at the Shanghai Himalayas Museum.

She also founded Museum 2050, a platform and annual symposium for exploring the future of museums through the lens of China.

Rediscovering Versailles’ Lost History through Virtual Reality

Through the unprecedented immersive VR experience Versailles: Lost Gardens of the Sun King, visitors of the Chateau can explore for the first time three historically significant lost spaces of Versailles’ gardens built under Louis XIV, the “Sun King.” Developed through the meticulous mining of archival documents, expert testimony, and archaeological remains, and brought to life with cutting-edge technology, this landmark location-based experience, co-produced by VIVE Arts, allows visitors to engage closely with this under-explored aspect of French royal history and Louis XIV’s legacy.
