Lillian Gendreau, a Boston-based artist and educator, is a Public Programs Specialist within the Department of Education and Civic Engagement at the Peabody Essex Museum in Salem, Massachusetts.

As the manager of the museum’s Being Well initiative, Lillian approaches the arts, programming, and community engagement with a holistic wellness based perspective.

Lillian has experience teaching all ages across a wide range of settings; in schools, in museum spaces, and online. She has exhibited her photographic works in galleries in and around Boston, Massachusetts.

Interpreting Collections with a Mindfulness Based Approach

Observing artworks and engaging in art making can be incredibly powerful practices in mindfulness. Learn about the inherent connections between the arts, mindfulness, and well-being, and see how the Peabody Essex Museum intentionally promotes mindfulness and wellness practices to their communities and visitors through exhibition design, programming, and their Being Well and neuroscience research initiatives.
