Lizzie Gothorp is a Project Placement on the #DYC On The Pitch Off the Pitch project for Leeds Museums and Galleries, focused on sporting heritage and digital collecting in Leeds.
She supports defining and implementing best practice in collecting, storing and cataloguing born digital objects such as oral histories to preserve the stories of the people of Leeds for generations to come.

How do museums, built around physical collecting, adapt to an ever digitised world? Find out how Leeds Museums and Galleries have been overhauling their approaches to digital collecting and collections management to make space for and better preserve born digital objects. We’ll discuss some of the ethical, legal and infrastructural challenges as well as why this work is absolutely essential. This work forms part of the National Lottery Heritage fund project #DYC On the pitch, off the pitch: sporting heritage in Leeds.
