In my role at Historic Royal Palaces, I lead on schools content development and delivery for the Tower of London, Hampton Court Palace and Kensington Palace on site, offsite and online. We reach approximately 200,000 school children per year through on-site programmes and many more off site and online.
I have over 20 years experience of working in public engagement and learning within the heritage and museum sector, including managing and developing schools’ programmes at the Museum of London, London Canal Museum and as an Editor for the London Metropolitan Archives. I am a qualified and experienced History teacher, having taught in London Schools, as well as internationally.
I have a keen interest in mental health and well-being and in a voluntary capacity, I currently work as a school governor with responsibility to support well-being initiatives within the school. I formerly trained and worked as a helpline advisor for the London Switchboard LGBT.

Nature for Nurture – building wellbeing and resilience through school gardening
Explore the creation and delivery of Superbloom Schools, an impactful gardening and wellbeing project involving 100,000 young people across the UK. Created in the wake of Covid19 and its damaging effect on young people’s mental health, the project supported teachers to create their own ‘Superbloom’ garden for wellbeing. The experience proved transformational for both the schools and Historic Royal Palaces. This presentation will explore the challenges of moving beyond your comfort zone as an organisation and the multiple rewards it brings.
