Martina Freitag

After studying art history at UCL in London, Martina Freitag worked at the Victoria & Albert Museum and as Head of Communications at Galerie Rudolfinum. She is dedicated to promoting contemporary art focusing on multigenerational and interdisciplinary activities related to art and co-author of the popular science books Why Art? and Fables & Constructions. She regularly lectures and contributes to periodicals on contemporary art, design, and architecture (Art+Antiques, Elle Decoration, Respekt) and is the author of programmes promoting film and architecture (CAMP Praha).

Warming up with AI in a gallery

Let’s explore the potential and limits of creative work with artificial intelligence together. How can it support artistic creation? What should we focus on and how can we effectively communicate with AI? This workshop focuses on working with images and videos, taking inspiration from the current exhibitions. We look closely at the subtle shifts and transformations in the artworks and installations. Using AI, we experiment with animating static shots of selected artworks to create short moving image. We develop our imagination, refine our prompts, and practise describing both still and moving images.
