After finishing her degree Melissa Painter realised she wanted to work with people to inspire change, either helping people to improve their lives through education or motivating them to change their lifestyle to help the planet. So in true Australian style she packed a backpack and headed to London.
Since then Melissa has been developing and delivering behaviour change, education & advice programmes in the UK and Australia. This includes developing community education, engagement and behaviour changes programmes from conception to completion, writing strategy and delivery plans to meet the toughest water reduction targets in the industry, providing advice services to local residents to enable them to live greener lifestyles and initiatives targeting schools and young people. During this time Melissa has been responsible for developing and evaluating programmes to measure impact, running interactive visitors centres, coordinating advice services, including telephone advice services, managing external contracts for education/advice services and coordinating a national campaign to get more young people walking. She has developed programmes on all aspects of sustainability including waste, water, energy, biodiversity and active travel.
