Nathan Doherty will be speaking at the Digital Collections Summit :

Re-imagining Accessibility To Collections With The Help Of AI

The scale of Imperial War Museum’s collections outstrips our ability to catalogue them in detail using traditional methods. IWM is creating innovative ways of working at the nexus of cutting edge AI tech, online volunteering, community engagement and the ethics of AI application to cultural collections.

Our multi-disciplinary team will share insights from two current projects, a sound transcription and translation tool built with Google and Capgemini, and a pilot project using a simple and intuitive portal to surface images from our Cold War collections to a group of trained volunteers for validation.
