Nicola Maxwell is project coordinator for the Multaka North East programme at Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums; a regional museum, art gallery and archives service, with nine museums and galleries across Tyneside.
Multaka (which means ‘meeting point’ in Arabic) is an international network of museums active in the design of programmes and participation of those with migration backgrounds.
Nicola develops regional and UK networks, to strengthen knowledge sharing and support for those engaged with, or have ambitions to engage with, lived experience communities.
Nicola leads the development for ‘Museums of Sanctuary’ across Tyne and Wear Archives and Museums.
