Nicole Kang Ferraiolo

Smithsonian American Women's History Museum

Nicole (Nikki) Kang Ferraiolo is Head of Digital Strategies at the Smithsonian American Women’s History Museum, where she focuses on bringing the museum to life online. She has a 20-year career in digital cultural heritage, education, and community engagement.

Previously, she served as the Director of Global Strategic Initiatives at the Council on Library and Information Resources (CLIR) where she developed strategies for programming, partnerships, and digital content.

She oversaw a $5 million annual funding portfolio and worked with hundreds of cultural institutions to digitize collections and make them accessible online. Previously, Ferraiolo managed history programs at Columbia University, with a focus on digital humanities. She has worked in London as a radio news editor and in French Guiana as an educator.

She also served as an editor for the Conference on World Affairs, attended by over 50,000 people annually. She holds Master’s degrees from Columbia University and the London School of Economics, where she graduated with distinction and was awarded best dissertation.
