Praminda Caleb-Solly is Professor of Embodied Intelligence at the University of Nottingham.

Prior to this, she led research in Assistive Robotics and Intelligent Healthcare Technologies in the Bristol Robotics Laboratory at the University of the West of England for over ten years.

She co-founded Robotics for Good CIC as a start-up to enable deployment of leading edge intelligent robotics and smart technology solutions that seek to empower people in their everyday lives.

Using Telepresence Robots in Museums

Can Telepresence Robots improve access to Museums? Some of us are excited by Robots, some alarmed, but all of us are intrigued. Over the last 2 years Hastings Contemporary in partnership with Robotics for Good and Accentuate, has been testing the use of telepresence robots to bring ‘visitors’ to the gallery nestled amongst the largest beach-launched fishing fleet in Britain. This session will explore the highs and lows of adding a Telepresence Robot to your engagement team. What can Telepresence Robots do? What are their strengths and challenges? Most importantly, what do our visitors think of them?
