Rajeev Gopinadh

Rajeev Gopinadh is currently the Temporary Exhibitions & Special Projects Manager at Louvre Abu Dhabi. He has worked for over 15 years in the art world, the bulk of which was at Qatar Museums with a focus on Modern and Contemporary Art.

There he had various roles including Registrar at Mathaf: Arab Museum of Modern Art from the museum’s launch in 2010 to Head of Content Management in the centralized exhibitions department. More recently Rajeev was the Production & Operations Manager for the first edition of the citywide light art festival, Noor Riyadh 2021.

Further work in Saudi Arabia occurred as Art Programs Manager at the Royal Commission of AlUla for monumental activations in the landscape including Desert X 2022. Rajeev holds a BA in Economics from Clark University and a MA in Art History and Connoisseurship from Christie’s NY.

In the exhibition From Kalila wa Dimna to Jean de La Fontaine: Travelling Through Fables at Louvre Abu Dhabi (From 26 March to 21 July 2024) we introduced an AI-powered Fables Generator, exploring how technology can reimagine fables.

The results? Fascinating, but we quickly realised that AI struggles to fully grasp the nuances of classic literature, especially when navigating the complexities of multiple languages and cultural contexts. Can a machine truly match the talent of a master storyteller?
