Rana Noor Mohamed is a multi-ethnic, multi-lingual independent researcher. She received her undergraduate degree in Languages and International Relations from the University of Greenwich, and her MRes degree in History from the University of Strathclyde.
She is particularly interested in languages, soft power, and cultural institutions. Along with these themes, she has also published articles and delivered a conference presentation about how the use of instrumentalism has disadvantaged minorities.

It is not always thought about where certain artefacts come from, how they were acquired or whether they should be returned to their countries of origin, but, for museums to be ethical, these questions must be asked.
