Sam Broadley

Sam Broadley has been working in cultural heritage since 2015, in a variety of roles across Science Museum, Science and Media Museum, National Football Museum and Leeds Museums and Galleries.

Sam’s belief that museums and galleries should work in active partnership with their communities has been expressed through exciting and innovative work in public programmes, contemporary collecting and outreach.

Sam has managed dynamic and creative responses to new acquisitions and exhibitions; delivering plays, panel discussions, creative workshops, tours and shows nationally. Sam is currently focussed on working with sporting communities in Leeds to tell stories of underrepresented groups.

This project champions social justice through oral histories, artist commissions and lens-based media.

How do museums, built around physical collecting, adapt to an ever digitised world? Find out how Leeds Museums and Galleries have been overhauling their approaches to digital collecting and collections management to make space for and better preserve born digital objects. We’ll discuss some of the ethical, legal and infrastructural challenges as well as why this work is absolutely essential.
