Sander is a migration historian with a keen interest in exploring the complexities of heritage and innovation within the cultural heritage domain. He has served as the chief curator in the establishment of the Occupations and Freedom Museum Vabamu, shedding light on the Soviet and Nazi-German occupations in Estonia. Currently, he holds the position of Head of Collections and Exhibitions at the Estonian Maritime Museum, one of the largest maritime museums in the Baltic Sea region.
