Sara Schesny

Sara Schesny, licensed science teacher, museum educator and digital producer. She has worked as a museum educator specialising in digital media at the Swedish Museum of Natural History since 2017.

She has developed digital learning resources that are used by tens of thousands of students in schools throughout Sweden every year.

Sara is also a licensed science teacher with more than ten years of teaching experience.

In 2018, Sara began building the museum’s lesson bank with materials for elementary and secondary schools. Today the lesson bank contains approximately 100 unique lesson materials. Sara has developed a working method that makes teachers co-creative in the development work.

How the Swedish Museum of Natural History went from being a resource, mostly available to schools in the capital region, to contributing to science learning throughout Sweden. How we built a community where we collaborate with teachers to create materials that are actually used, and appreciated, in the classroom. How we came to offer a smorgasbord of easy-to-use, but not easy, learning resources for teachers to use in the classroom, disconnected from the museum as a destination.
