Sarah Castle

Sarah Castle has been involved in education throughout her professional life. She started her career as a librarian before moving into the heritage sector. Previously a programme manager at the Museum of London, Sarah is Head of Learning and Engagement at the RAF Museum, a post she has held since 2017. Sarah has an MA in Museums and Galleries in Education and a PGCert in Learning and Teaching. She is passionate about the role of learning in heritage organisations and about creating the conditions which allow every child and young person to feel included.

Building creativity into learning programmes

There are certain museum collections that you don’t necessarily associate with creativity. Military museums are likely among these. Discover how the RAF Museum London has incorporated creativity into their learning programmes; from opportunities for learners of all ages to get creative through to creatively sharing the RAF story via a dedicated storyteller post within the team. We will share what has worked well, what needs more work and how creativity is embedded across school, community and family activities.
