Ellie Wyant

Social Media and Community Manager
The National Gallery

Ellie Wyant is the Social Media and Community Manager at the National Gallery. Over the last 9 years, she has grown the Gallery’s social media community to over 5 million across multiple platforms, including a following of over 2.2 million on Instagram.

As part of the Gallery’s Bicentenary, she launched the 200 Creators Network, the first of its kind within the cultural sector, bringing together 200 content creators and their communities to be inspired by the Gallery, its collection and even its staff.

She is passionate about bringing the Gallery’s collection to life digitally, connecting audiences today with paintings of the past through engaging storytelling and, sometimes, surprising routes into the Gallery’s paintings.

Ellie Wyant will be speaking at the Digital Museums Summit 2025 :

Building a ‘200 Creators’ network for the National Gallery’s Bicentenary – and beyond

How do you engage with social media creators? And how do you do it meaningfully for them, for you, and for audiences?

Engaging with creators takes patience, money, organisational buy-in, audience strategy, and a can-do attitude. I’ll take you through the ins and outs of practically building a network of creators for an arts institution, from initial meetings and engaging senior stakeholders, bringing on board an agency, and corporate sponsorship, to choosing the right creators and delivering the content to an engaged global audience.
