Helena Postawka-Lech

Helena Postawka-Lech is an Art Historian and Museum Educator with many years of experience working in cultural institutions, Helena has hands-on experience in program management and audience engagement. She has a proven track record of creating and implementing audience development and promotional strategies, as well as, scripting and conducting classes and workshops for adults and children. She is well-versed in writing and editing popularising and promotional materials for museums and cultural institutions on a wide range of topics. Passionate about accessibility, Helena is a champion of fostering an inclusive environment within the institution.

In her professional life, Helena has been associated with many institutions, including the International Cultural Centre in Krakow and the National Museum in Krakow. She is currently working as the Head of the Communication and Marketing Department at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Krakow (MOCAK).

She regularly collaborates with organizations focused on art and heritage, working as an educator and promoter of art. She is also an enthusiastic writer for magazines dedicated to contemporary art, such as Contemporary Lynx and Restart. From 2013 to 2018, she taught museology at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow. For this reason, she bases her practice on research and frequently participates in conferences related to museology.

Are you tired of hearing about other people’s successes? I will talk about my failures! I am convinced that many people will find themselves in my stories from over 15 years of organizing programs in museums. I deeply believe that the best way to learn is by reflecting on one’s own mistakes and drawing conclusions. Through these examples, I aim to discuss the mistakes to avoid when planning events, how to communicate events effectively and inclusively, and how to plan and conduct event evaluations that can help improve future actions.
