Aimée Monk is a Visitor Journey Access Consultant at the National Trust, leading work that improves accessibility, inclusion and visitor experience across the organisation’s places. Her work focuses on understanding visitor barriers and developing practical solutions that enable more people to enjoy and engage with nature, beauty and historical experiences. She has a particular interest in accessible information, inclusive design and the role digital content can play in supporting confidence, choice and belonging.
Aimée Monk will be speaking at the Digital Learning Summit 2026:
How can digital content do more than simply provide access information?
This presentation explores how museums and heritage organisations can work with disabled people to create authentic digital experiences that support confidence, choice and inclusion. Through a case study at Hardwick Hall, we examine the development of access-focused films, including a Christmas experience that enabled audiences unable to reach upper floors to explore decorated spaces through immersive digital storytelling.
Combining lived experience and organisational perspectives, the session demonstrates how co-creation, authentic representation and visitor-centred design can transform digital accessibility from information provision into meaningful cultural participation.
