Marie-Hélène Audet

Head of the Mediation
Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec

For the past several years, Marie-Hélène Audet has led the Outreach Department at the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (MNBAQ), a deeply inspiring institution where she has the opportunity to learn and grow every day. With a background in visual arts education and museology, she brings more than twenty years of experience in the museum and cultural sectors.

Before joining the Museum in 2004, she worked with a range of cultural and creative organizations in Québec City, developing a strong understanding of artistic practices, cultural participation, and diverse audiences. At the MNBAQ, she spent many years leading family outreach, developing strategies and projects designed to foster children’s, young people’s, and families’ engagement with art.

Today, she oversees the development of outreach initiatives that enrich the visitor experience while advancing a more inclusive, accessible, and human-centered approach to museums. She is particularly interested in audience development, informal learning, cultural accessibility, and sensitive approaches to cultural mediation. Every day, she sees firsthand how art can create connections, open up new perspectives, and contribute to our well-being.

Marie-Hélène Audet will be speaking at the Digital Learning Summit 2026 :

Digital Inclusion at MNBAQ

How can museums reach thousands of learners beyond their physical walls while offering high-quality, accessible, and inclusive experiences?

This presentation explores how digital innovation, emerging technologies, artificial intelligence, and online educational resources can expand museums’ educational reach and democratize access to art. Through two examples, we will examine how digital tools can enrich learning, support teachers, foster visitor autonomy, and create new entry points to art—whether in the classroom, at home, or in the museum. We will also address challenges related to accessibility, user experience, and AI integration. Participants will leave with practical strategies for creating engaging, inclusive, and human-centered digital learning experiences.
